Taxi - auto fare revision: Special meeting today

Thiruvananthapuram:  A special meeting convened by the Fair Revision Committee here on Friday will consider the demand for a revision of the autorickshaw and taxi fares in the wake of diesel price hike.

Following the steep hike in diesel price, the labour unions have been demanding a fare revision for the taxi and auto rickshaws in the state.  

Transport Minister Aryadan Mohammed had earlier held talks with major private bus operators in the state following their demand for fare revision. After the meet, he had said that the demand for bus fare hike was reasonable due to the hike in the price of diesel.
