Speical court for trial on TP murder case

Kozhikode: The State government will set up a special court as well as appoint a special prosecutor for conducting the trial in the murder of the Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) leader T.P. Chandrasekharan at Onchiyam. The proceedings for the same is already began. The cabinet will soon take decision on the same which is now under the consideration of law ministry secretary. 

Cabinet would have to take a decision on establishing a special court and convey that message to the High Court of Kerala.Subsequently the Chief Justice will seek the availability of judges and appoint a special judge.

The next stage will be the government taking steps for infrastructure facilities including building, furniture and deployment of judicial staff.


The court would be either in Vadakara or at the existing Special Additional District Sessions Court (Marad cases) at Eranhipalam. The names of CK Sreedharan , criminal lawyer in Kanhangad and P Kumaran Kutty are being considered for post of special prosecutor.
