LPG gas regulation comes into effect: Rs 797 for extra cylinder

Thiruvananthapuram: The central government order to levy extra charges for cylinders more than the stipulated 6 have come into force. Consumers are entitled for 3 cylinders till March 31, 2012. The gas agencies have been instructed to levy extra charge for additional cylinders.

For extra cylinders, Rs 797.50 has to be given in Thiruvananthapuram. The price of subsidised cylinder is Rs 422. Commercial cylinders would cost Rs 990.50. The central government imposed regulation on gas cylinders two weeks back. Though the cylinder sans subsidy would cost Rs 895, due to wide protest, the tax was removed and fixed at Rs 797.
