Thieves kill housewife

MALLAPPALLY: A 72 year old housewife was killed by thieves on Sunday at her house here. She has been identified as Annie, wife of Joy Joseph (75) from Anikkad. The incident happened at 10:30 am. Joy Joseph told police that the murder was carried out by his renters—three Assamese to whom he rented room above his rubber shop. The miscreants, in a bid to rob the house, tied Joy to a chair with electric wires. He escaped somehow and saw Annie lying on the floor motionless
