KANKER: The police have
arrested a school teacher and a watchman for allegedly molesting 11 of the 75
students of a government hostel in Naharpur for over a year in Chhattisgarh's
Kanker district.
Teacher Mannu Gota and watchman Deenanath were arrested after an FIR was lodged against them on Saturday night under section 376 (2) of the IPC.
The District Collector had received a complaint of molestation. The team that was formed by him to investigate the complaint found it to be true.
"We got a complaint that a watchman and a teacher did wrong... We immediately took action through our women officers," said District Collector Aller Manger.
The matter came to light when the girls complained to a visiting official, who had come to the village to see the functioning of the hostel.
