KOZHIKODE: A woman arrested
for torturing her step daughter to death is an accused in a theft case. The
girl’s father and step mother of the six year-old-girl identified as Aditi, who
died at the Medical College Hospital after allegedly being tortured by her
stepmother, were arrested on Wednesday.
The woman identified as Devika stole the ornaments used for adorning deities from a temple in Aluva along with her second husband.
The woman a Muslim by birth converted to Hinduism and accepted the name Devika. She told police that she had married thrice. Her third husband Subramanyam Namboodiri was Aditi’s father.
The girl's mother had died four years back in a road accident after which her father got married to Devika
