THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Speaking after unveiling a statue of former Kerala Chief Minister R Shankar in
Kerala , UPA Chairperson and Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi said her
party is guided by his legacy of equal society and social justice to lead them
to a path of progress change. "R Shankar's vision of an equal society
inspires the Congress Party and the government everyday, which will create an
inclusive, just and responsible society-one which empowers every citizen as
member of society," Gandhi said. "As a Party President committed to
social justice and progressive change, I am honoured to be here today,"
she added.
As part of
her two-day visit to Kerala, Gandhi unveiled the statue of former Chief
Minister of Kerala, R. Shankar at the Martyrs Column and addressed a public
meeting at the Kerala University Senate Hall. On Monday, Sonia Gandhi will
launch the 'Zero-landless Project-2015' ,a unique initiative of the Kerala
Government to provide land to all the landless people in the state by 2015.
