Malabar tourism dvpt: demand for Visa on arrival in Kozhikode

Kozhikode: The demand for Visa On Arrival (VOA) in Karippur airport is gaining strength for the development of tourism in Malabar region. The tourism, commercial and industries sector will be largely benefitted with this as the visa on arrival implemented in Kochi and TVM airports were a huge success. If VOA is implemented, the tourists can seek temporary visa after arriving at the airport. The VOA is being allotted to tourists from 11 countries like Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, New Zealand, Finland, Singapore and Cambodia, with whom India had entered a pact. The office of foreign regional registration under union ministry of home affairs need to be opened to allot visa on arrival. After the implementation of VOA in Kochi after 15 th August, 22 in Kochi and 60 in TVM utilised VOA. The visa would be granted to a maximum of 30 days and the fee is 60 dollars. The applicants need to produce the return ticket to get VOA. They should carry at least 200 dollars for their journey. One person will get VOA twice in a year.
