ULLOOR/ATTINGAL: Three persons of a family were killed
on their way to the Parasurama temple in Thiruvallam to offer bali. Nine
persons sustained serious injuries and have been admitted to the medical
college hospital. The accident happened Friday morning at 6.30 am
at the Alamcode Junction near Attingal. An over-speeded scorpio coming in the
opposite direction rammed a private bus from Attingal proceeding to Madathara.
The scorpio was completely damaged in the impact.
The persons trapped in the scorpio was taken out by the fire force personnel from Attingal. Two persons died on the spot and one in the hospital. The condition of seven injured is stated to be serious.
The scorpio was driven by Ajay Kumar (26) of Mavelikkara. Kuttan (56) of Kayamkulam, his wife Usha (45), Kuttan’s brother Gopi (62), his wife Shanthamma (54), their children Krishnamma (36) and Aji (26), Kuttan’s sister Kamalamma (65), Ramarajan (55), Susheela (47), Sukumaran (62) and Padmavathy (50) were in the car. The relatives of those in the car have not arrived from Kayamkulam to identify the dead. The bodies of the dead have been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital
