KB Ganesh Kumar resigns from MLA position

The MLA from Pathanapuram is believed to have taken the action because he was disgruntled at not being given a ministerial berth even after controversies in which he was involved had died down.  Kumar, who has been an MLA thrice, had become a minister twice and had to resign on both occasions. Kumar has sent his resignation to party chairman R Balakrishna Pillai and the letter has not been sent to the Speaker. If the resignation is accepted, the strength of the UDF  will come down to 72.
