Cell phone spotted in Kozhikode jail

KOZHIKODE: A mobile phone was recovered on Saturday from Kozhikode district jail where the accused in the TP murder case are lodged. It was found in a pipeline which connected a septic tank to the latrines used by the accused in the cell. The jail staff came across the device while workers were clearing drainage blocks. However no SIM card was found inside the phone. Earlier, the police could only recover mobile chargers and covers during searches conducted following allegations that TP murder case accused had been using mobile phones from the jail at liberty.
