Kerala close to achieving 100 per cent Aadhaar enrolment



Thiruvananthapuram: Figures indicate that a significant number of people in Kerala have received Aadhaar numbers. Among the 3.33 crore people in the state, three crores have received the unique identification number. 

State IT Mission Director, P Balakiran said that 90 per cent of residents in Kerala had received the Aadhaar number. Already Aadhaar cards have been issued via Akshaya centres to 1.47 crore people. Through NPR, about 1.16 crore people have received Aadhaar cards while 37 lakhs have received it via Keltron. The IT Mission said that 57 crore people have been issued the card in India. 

In Kerala, the maximum number of people who have taken Aadhaar are from Pathanamthitta, while Thiruvananthapuram tags behind all other districts in this respect.

Those who have applied for the card can update themselves about the status of the card at www.uidai.gov.in. An SMS message, UIDSTATUS  <14 digit enrollment number>  can also be sent to 51969 to update oneself.
