New Delhi: The Supreme Court rejected the contempt of court plea made against Amritanandamayi Mutt on the basis of the revelations made by former inmate of the mutt, Gail Tredwell.
The plea was rejected after Kerala submitted an affidavit citing lack of evidence to register a case. 'A case cannot be registered on an incident that happened 20 years ago,' the SC pointed out.
Supreme Court lawyer Deepak Prakash had filed the plea demanding action against DySp K S Balasubramaniam, former Home Secretary L Radhakrishnan and Kollam City Police Commissioner Devesh KumarBehra for contempt of court.
