Mysore: In an early morning gruesome mishap on Madikeri Road at Periyapattinam in Mysore district, nine persons were killed when a Tempo Traveller collided with a gas-laden lorry on Wednesday morning. As many as 10 were injured in the accident and were rushed to nearby hospitals.The deceased hailed from Dharlakatta from Mangalore. Four women and 3 children were among the dead. The identity of all the victims is yet to be ascertained.
The mishap occured 50 kilometres away from Mysore. Sayeed and his family were returning after visiting a church in Tamil Nadu when their vehicle crashed head-on with the lorry. The Tempo Traveller was destroyed completely. The bodies are kept at the K R Hospital for post mortem.
