THIRUVANANHAPURAM: The government will give Rs 5000 as special Onam grant for each employee of 418 bars which have remained close for the past five months. 7467 bar employees who have membership in Bar employees welfare fund board will be eligible for the relief.

 

Rs 3.5 crore needed for the Onam grant had been sanctioned by the government as advance amount.

 

However, the employees of 312 bars which have been served notice for closure will not be eligible for the Onam allowance.
