Kochi: An attempt was made to eliminate cricketer S Sreesnath while he
was remanded in Tihar jail in connection with the IPL spot-fixing scam,
said playback singer Madhu Balakrishnan, who is also the cricketer's
brother-in-law.
'A history-sheeter attempted to stab him using a weapon made out of a door handle. The matter was informed to the jail officials and Sreesanth was shifted to another cell,' Madhu said adding that the suspects conspiracy behind the incident.
During the hearing of the IPL case the other day, the court had asked whether there exists any evidence against Sreesanth.
Sreesanth had said that he is waiting for the court to deliver the verdict and added that he would make a disclosure later.
