THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister E P Jayarajan said some ministers expressed only their concern in banning all celebrations in wake of the flood calamity. He said this while briefing reporters in the capital city.
All ministers have the idea of improving their departments and so they are concerned about the new decision. Some said their opinion and apart from that all are united, he said. The government has adopted a policy of utilising funds for relief and reimbursement after avoiding celebrations. The state has incurred heavy loss in the floods. Importance should be given to rebuild Kerala in the best possible way. In that case some things have to be avoided. After rebuilding Kerala, all celebrations can be conducted, he said.
Children should not fear that they will lose grace marks without any school or sports competitions. The government will ensure that children will not lose their opportunity to participate in the national sports meet. The minister said the government will examine what can be done on these after cutting short maximum celebrations, he said.
