The court has asked this following the demise of Manjeswaram MLA Abdul Razaq. Surendran informed the court that he will give a response within two days. The High Court on Thursday considered K Surendran’s plea seeking to cancel the election victory of Manjeswaram MLA P B Abdul Razaq. Surendran had approached the high court alleging that several people committed vote fraud during the election in Manjeswaram. The high court verdict will be crucial as the assembly is set to face a by-election following Abdul Razaq’s demise. 175 witnesses have been cross examined in the court and the court has sent summons to 67 witnesses. Meantime, election commission has clarified that a by-election cannot be declared before announcing the verdict of the case.
