[3:8] He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book; in it there are verses that are decisive in meaning — they are the basis of the Book — and there are others that are susceptible of different interpretations. But those in whose hearts is perversity pursue such thereof as are susceptible of different interpretations, seeking discord and seeking wrong interpretation of it. And none knows its right interpretation except Allah and those who are firmly grounded in knowledge; they say, ‘We believe in it; the whole is from our Lord.’ — And none heed except those gifted with understanding. —

Zarb-e-Azb: Pakistan urges Afghanistan to arrest TTP chief Fazlullah

________ A to Z kerala .......... [kvk]
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has once again urged Afghan authorities to arrest Tehreek-e-Taliban chief Mullah Fazlullah, who is hiding in Afghanistan.

Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Abdul Qadir Baloch, Minister for Information Senator Pervaiz Rashid and Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major Gen. Asim Saleem Bajwa gave briefing to foreign media about on-going military operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ in North Waziristan here on Tuesday.

They informed that no one will be allowed to use Pakistani soil for terrorist activities. They urged the Afghan government to arrest TTP chief Fazlullah staying in that country.

Officials said the operation will continue till establishment of complete writ of government in the N. Waziristan. They said NWA is the last safe haven of terrorists which will be purged from them at all costs.

“Operation was launched after giving chance to peace and for this purpose dialogue process was initiated,” the official asserted.

Maj. Gen. Bajwa said that terrorists of all hues and colors were being killed in the operation.

To a question, he said that it was totally Pakistan’s own operation and Pakistan only requested Afghanistan and ISAF for sealing of the border so that the terrorists could not hide across Durand line.

The DG ISPR made it clear that drone attacks were not part of the plan as Pakistan was using its own air force very effectively and with precision. He said that Pakistan had the estimated figure of terrorists in North Waziristan and not a single terrorist would be spared by the time of the completion of the operation.

About the success of the operation, he said that the target was to re-establish writ of the state in the agency, eliminate all the terrorists and make the agency ready for development works like South Waziristan.

Abdul Qadir Baloch said that Pakistan would not ask for any financial support from the international community but the world community should realise its responsibility and do what it was supposed to do.

Replying to a question, Pervaiz Rashid said that Pakistan stance on drone attacks was very clear as they proved counter productive.

Earlier giving a presentation on the Zarb-e-Azb operation, the DG ISPR said that so far 376 terrorists have been killed. He informed the troops have recovered underground tunnels and IEDs preparation factories inside the so far cleared area.

He said integrated fire of Artillery Tanks and other heavy weapons is being carried out on terrorist’s concentrations in the agency and effective cordon is in place at areas housing terrorists.

Since start of operation Zarb-e-Azb on 15 June 376 terrorists have been killed while 19 have surrendered to the security forces. He said that 61 terrorist hideouts have been destroyed in the operation while 19 soldiers have embraced Shahadat.

WASHINGTON: US spy agency, National Security Agency (NSA), had been authorised to spy on most countries and some international bodies and political parties, Geo News reported Tuesday.

Bomb scare: no explosive material found in Delhi-bound plane

________ A to Z kerala .......... [kvk]
Bangalore: A reported bomb threat on a Delhi-bound Air India plane from Kochi, with 164 people on board, which landed under emergency conditions at the airport here, was a hoax, police said today.

The Airbus 320 (flight AI-047) was searched 'thoroughly' after its emergency landing late last night and no bomb or
explosive material was detected, Bangalore Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Kamal Pant told PTI.

'Nothing was found. All the baggages were searched thoroughly and the plane was cleared of any bomb or explosive
material,' Pant said, at the end of the security check of the aircraft that extended from around 10 pm till the early hours
of today.

An Air India spokesman said the stranded passengers were sent to Delhi by another flight early this morning.

The flight, with 156 passengers and eight crew onboard, had landed under emergency conditions at the Kempegowda
International Airport here, following an 'unspecific call' about a bomb threat.

After the plane took off from Kochi around 8.40 PM yesterday, there was a call from a man saying that there could
be a bomb in the aircraft, the airline and police officials had said, adding the pilot was asked soon thereafter to land
at the nearest airport, which was Bangalore.

The Kochi airport had received an 'unspecific call' from a person, who had come to the Kochi airport to see off his
female friend, according to the airport police here.

The woman contacted him over phone saying that there was lot of frisking going on at the Kochi airport and then she
switched off her mobile, which made him panicky and inform Kochi airport authorities about the alleged bomb threat, the
officials had said.

The bomb detection squad and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which handles airport security, had
carried out the search. PTI

France proposes 1 bln euro credit line for India projects

________ A to Z kerala .......... [kvk]
New Delhi: France has proposed to give India a 1 billion euro ($1.4 billion) credit line to fund sustainable infrastructure and urban development projects, Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said on Tuesday.

The credit line would be available over three years and would be delivered through the French Development Agency, Fabius, who began his India visit on Monday, told reporters in New Delhi.

India, which has said it needs $1 trillion of investment by 2017 to upgrade its creaking infrastructure, is keen to attract foreign development agencies and companies to help finance new roads, railways and cities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who took office in May, has vowed to focus on infrastructure.

'If you don't have the share of technology and the share of finance, you can develop brilliant ideas, may be brilliant, but (you will have) nothing concrete,' Fabius said at an event about sustainable growth and climate change.

He is the first of a string of Western politicians due to visit India over the next few weeks for talks with Modi and his government, drawn in part by the prospect of lucrative defence deals that stalled under the last administration.

Fabius called on Modi, ahead of his visit to Mumbai later on Tuesday, and invited him to France.

During the meeting, Modi sought French involvement in areas including low-cost defence manufacturing, a government statement said.

Some countries find extending a credit line or investing through development arms a useful way to boost ties with India and also gain an early link to the South Asian nation's future infrastructure schemes.

Japan is a key investor in the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, a mega infrastructure project that envisages dozens of new industrial zones and cities sprouting alongside a 1,483-kilometre highway stretch between India's biggest two cities.

Kerala's CyberDome to fight cyber crime

________ A to Z kerala .......... [kvk]
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala will soon set up a CyberDome in the Technopark campus to tackle cyber crime in the state, the assembly was informed Tuesday.

Replying to a calling attention motion moved by Congress legislator V.P. Sajeendran who pointed out that innocent women and children are getting trapped by unscrupulous elements who target them through the internet and the social media, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said the government is seized of this new generation crime that has become a social evil.

'This issue is now just not a state issue but has become an international one and the stage has come that we need to open diplomatic channels to resolve cyber crimes. Moreover, we have to re-write existing set of laws as it lacks tooth. Parents too have a role to play in this aspect. Overall, there has to be a combination of factors to tackle this new generation crime and the state government will do its job,' he said.

The minister informed the assembly the number of cyber crime cases that have been registered in the state over the years has increased from 73 in 2009 to 548 in 2013.

Sajeendran pointed out the police at present do not have the strength and resources to handle these sorts of crimes and hence the perpetrators continue to harass women and children.

Chennithala pointed out that at present there is just one Cyber Police Station here. He said very soon, there will be a similar stations in Kochi and Kozhikode.

'One hundred and thirteen new posts have been created in the police department. Besides, police officials are being trained in this area of work also,' added Chennithala.

Inspector General of Police Manoj Abraham told IANS setting up the Kerala Police CyberDome - a high-tech public private partnership centre - will help tide over new challenges in cyber security and handle cyber crimes.

'It is important to ensure the CyberDome functions in close proximity to the Techno Park campus here, where most of the software companies are located, so the partnerships are easily established. The hardware will primarily be procured by the police department and the establishment costs of the centre can be envisaged on a private-public shared basis,' said Abraham.

'This will be a primary monitoring unit for the internet and a separate wing will be created in the Centre for this purpose. They will be responsible to monitor the net and concentrate primarily on anti-terror activities,' he added.

The CyberDome will also be the nodal centre for policing the social networking sites and also for awareness campaigns by the police, over the net. An IT firm has already approached the police to do this for free.

Non-subsidized LPG price hiked by Rs 16.50 per cylinder

________ A to Z kerala .......... [kvk]
NEW DELHI: Price of non-subsidized cooking gas (LPG) was on Tuesday hiked by Rs 16.50 per cylinder and that of jet fuel by over half-a-per cent after international oil prices surged due to the ongoing Iraq crisis.

The increase in rates of non-subsidized LPG and ATF accompanies the Rs 1.69 a litre hike in petrol and 50 paisa a litre in diesel announced yesterday.

The price of non-subsidized LPG, which customers buy after using up their quota of 12 subsidized cylinders, was raised by Rs 16.50 per 14.2-kg cylinder, the first hike in six months.

Each non-subsidized 14.2-kg cooking gas cylinder will now cost Rs 922.50 in Delhi, up from Rs 906, according to Indian Oil Corp (IOC), the nation's largest oil firm.

Non-subsidized LPG rates were last month cut by Rs 23.50 per cylinder.

A subsidized LPG cylinder in Delhi costs Rs 414. Today's hike breaks the declining trend that started in February with a Rs 107 cut in rates to Rs 1,134 per cylinder.

It was followed by a Rs 53.5 per cylinder reduction in March to Rs 1,080.50, by Rs 100 to Rs 980.50 in April, by Rs 52 in May and by Rs 23.50 cut last month.

IOC said losses on LPG have risen to Rs 449 per subsidized cylinder from Rs 432.71 in the previous month. The loss was Rs 762.50 in January.

Separately, the price of jet fuel or aviation turbine fuel (ATF), at Delhi was increased by Rs 413.78 per kilolitre (kl), or 0.6 per cent, to Rs 70,161.76 per kl.

The increase follows three straight monthly reduction, the last one of Rs 1,285.89 per kl, or 1.81 per cent, which came into effect on June 1.

In Mumbai, jet fuel costs Rs 72,411.21 per kl as against Rs 71,940.36 per kl previously, IOC said. The rates vary because of differences in local sales tax or VAT.

Jet fuel constitutes over 40 per cent of an airline's operating costs and the price hike will increase the financial burden of cash-strapped carriers.

No immediate comments were available from airlines on the impact of the price increase on passenger fares.

The three fuel retailers — IOC, Hindustan Petroleum Corp and Bharat Petroleum Corp — revise jet fuel and non-subsidized LPG prices on the first of every month, based on the average international prices in the preceding month. PTI
