Two IAF helicopters crash midair in Gujarat, 8 killed.

JAMNAGAR(GUJARAT): At least eight Indian Air Force personnel were killed and two others injured in a midair collision of two Mi-17 helicopters here. 

The two helicopters collided shortly after take off at around 12.05pm and crashed. 

The two Russian-origin Mi-17 cargo choppers of the Air Force were on a training mission at the Sarmat range, 10 kms north west of Jamnagarair base. 

The villagers, who witnessed the accident, said the two choppers collided soon after take off and crashed near the village. 

An IAF spokesperson in New Delhi said that a court of inquiry has been ordered to determine the reasons behind the crash
