Thiruvananthapuram: BJP president Amit Shah today said the saffron party's mission would be complete only with the formation of its governments in Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal.

 

Shah, who arrived here on a day's visit to gear up the party and to take stock of its preparations for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, said BJP's work would not be complete without formation of its governments in Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal.

 

However, Shah, during his speech at the workers convention from six Lok Sabha constituencies in South Kerala, made no mention of the appointment of a new party chief in the state.

 

The post of the party president had fallen vacant after the appointment of incumbent Kummanam Rajasekharan as governor of Mizoram in May end.

 

Referring to the party position in Kerala, Shah said the BJP was making "steady progress in the right direction" despite the political violence against its cadres unleashed by ruling CPI-M.

 

Shah said the martyrdom of BJP-RSS workers would not become meaningful unless the CPI-M was rooted out of Kerala as it happened in Tripura and West Bengal.

 

Alleging that chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan was responsible for the political violence in the state, Shah said 84 RSS-BJP workers had been killed in Kannur, the home district of Vijayan.

 

The BJP president also alleged that political clashes were not based on any ideology, and said it was state sponsored killings.

 

"The BJP does not believe in retaliating violence with violence, but with development," he said.

 

Listing the various schemes and development projects initiated by the Narendra Modi government, Shah said NDA was able to provide a corruption free and transparent government to the country in contrast to the earlier Congress-led UPA regimes.

 

"The government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed four years in office. Even Opposition has not been able to level a single graft charge of one rupee against the government," he said.

 

"We have been able to provide a tansparent government," he added.

 

Modi was able to enhance the pride of the country abroad, Shah said.

 

The large gathering and warm welcome the Prime Minister was getting in each country was actually not for him or the BJP, but for the 125 crore people of India, he said.

 

Earlier in the day, Shah also addressed a core committee meeting of the party's state unit.

 

According to party sources, the BJP has decided to launch several campaign programmes to counter the alleged false propaganda against the Centre by the rivals and also against CPI-M-led LDF government in the state.

 

Shah asked Kerala cadres to strive tirelessly to ensure that the party reaps maximum seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

 

The BJP is trying to expand its influence in the southern state, which has been dominated by the CPI(M)-led Left Front and Congress-headed United Democratic Front for decades now, but with little success.

 

Though the saffron party's vote share shot up to 14 per cent in the 2016 assembly polls against six per cent in the previous elections, it could manage to win just one seat.

HC rejects bail plea of corporator in abetment to suicide case

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court today rejected the pre-arrest bail plea of a corporator in Pune district in a case of alleged abetment of suicide of a real estate broker over a property dispute.   NCP leader and corporator Deepak Mankar had approached the high court after a sessions court in Pune rejected his anticipatory bail application on June 6.   Earlier this month, the Pune Police had lodged a case against Mankar and six others for allegedly abetting the suicide of real estate broker Jitendra Jagtap, who took the extreme step earlier this month.   The victim had left a purported suicide note in which he named the accused persons responsible for his death.   Justice Mridula Bhatkar today rejected Mankar's plea while observing that the charges levelled against him were of serious nature.   According to the FIR lodged by Jitendra Jagtap's son Jayesh, his father knew Mankar and was taking care of a plot of land at Rasta Peth in Pune since about a decade.   The FIR stated that Mankar along with a builder, Vasant Karnataki, was allegedly putting pressure on Jagtap to give up possession of the land in their favour by signing some blank documents.   The accused persons even threatened Jagtap with dire consequences. This drove him to commit suicide by jumping in front of a moving train on the tracks near B T Kawade Road in Pune on June 2, the FIR stated.   However, Mankar in his anticipatory bail plea claimed that he along with Karnataki were legal owners of the land.   The plea mentioned that Karnataki's firm Try Builders had allegedly entered into an agreement with another realty company over development rights.   Mankar in his plea also said they were only seeking return of the land, and that making such a demand cannot be construed as abetment to suicide.   Moreover, Mankar had given an application to the police on June 1, complaining that Jagtap was demanding money to vacate the land, the plea said.

Lashkar terrorist among three identified for involvement in Bukhari's killing: Police

Srinagar: Three people involved in the killing of veteran journalist Shujaat Bukhari have been identified by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and one of them is escaped Lashker-e-Taiba terrorist Naveed Jatt, a Pakistani national, police officials said here.

 

Two locals were also identified by the police and are believed to be from one of the villages in south Kashmir. Police were trying to corroborate the evidence from the ground, they said

 

The details about the plans to kill Bukhari surfaced during an investigation in one of the recent encounters at Kulgam during which police officials got evidence to suggest that Jatt was in the middle of the motorcycle on which three terrorists were seen on the CCTV footage minutes before gunning down the journalist on June 14, they said

 

Jatt, who escaped from the busy SMHS hospital in February this year, is associated with Lashker-e-Taiba

 

They said a Pakistan-based blogger, a resident of Srinagar and now settled there, has also been identified. The blogger had started a hate campaign against Bukhari after he had attended Dubai conference last year

Washington: President Donald Trump today lashed out at the Virginia restaurant that refused to serve his press secretary Sarah Sanders, suggesting that the "dirty" eatery "badly needs a paint job" and must focus more on cleaning its "filthy canopies, doors and windows".

 

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders was kicked out of The Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Virginia on Friday for working for Trump.

 

"Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so," Sanders said in a tweet.

 

Trump slammed the 26-seat farm-to-table restaurant today for refusing to serve a "fine person" like Sarah Sanders.

 

"The Red Hen Restaurant should focus more on cleaning its filthy canopies, doors and windows (badly needs a paint job) rather than refusing to serve a fine person like Sarah Huckabee Sanders," he said in a tweet.

 

"I always had a rule, if a restaurant is dirty on the outside, it is dirty on the inside!" Trump, an admitted germophobe, added.

 

The restaurant's co-owner Stephanie Wilkinson told 'The Washington Post' that her reasons to kick Sanders out included the concerns of employees who were gay and knew she had defended Trump's desire to bar transgender people from the military.

 

Wilkinson said she believed Sanders works in an "inhumane and unethical" administration.

 

The incident had come days after Homeland Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was booed at a Mexican restaurant in Washington DC.

 

Both cases come amid increasing pressure on the US government over its controversial policy of separating migrant children from their parents at the Mexican border.

 

A decision by the administration to criminally prosecute every undocumented migrant crossing the border led to some 2,300 children being separated from their parents in May and June, and sparked a global wave of outrage.

 

President Trump has now halted family separations but says he remains committed to the "zero tolerance" policy.

 

Sanders' father, former Fox News host and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, had accused the restaurant of bigotry for asking his daughter to leave .

Child rape inexcusable, offenders deserve no leniency: HC

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has upheld the conviction of and life sentence awarded to a man for raping a minor girl, saying "child rape is inexcusable" and "no leniency or mercy can be shown" to one who commits such a crime.   While upholding the March 2004 decision of a trial court to sentence the man to imprisonment for life, a bench of Justices S P Garg and C Hari Shankar observed that child rape was "an offence less of passion and more of power".   The court said that while rape was an anathema, but when it was perpetrated on a minor, it showed the "depravity" ingrained in the psyche of the perpetrator and such persons did not deserve any leniency in law or the right to cohabit in society with others.   "Ecclesiastically as well as temporally, child rape is inexcusable. No leniency, or mercy, can be shown to the violator of the body of a child of tender years, who is yet to savour the first fragrance of adolescence.   "We find no reason, therefore, to interfere, far less differ, with the finding, of the Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ), that the appellant (Anil Mehto) was guilty of having committed rape on the prosecutrix and, subsequently, of having threatened her with dire consequences, in case she were to disclose the fact of commission of rape, on her, to anyone else," the bench said.   The court refused to interfere with the life sentence awarded to the convict, saying "the perpetration of social order would necessarily require, therefore, the removal of such elements from the societal fabric, if the warp and weft thereof are to remain intact".   The bench further said that "child rape was the ultimate indicator of the reality, often unnoticed, that rape is an offence less of passion and more of power".   "Rape, of any kind and on anyone, is an anathema in a civilised society; when perpetrated on a young child, however, it betokens a depravity, in the perpetrator, which is ingrained in his psyche, and which altogether disentitles him from any leniency, in law, or the right to cohabit, in society, with his brother," it added.   According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on the night of August 16, 2000, when Mehto raped the minor girl while her siblings and father were sleeping.   The then 10-year-old girl in her testimony had said that the convict first raped her inside her room and then took her to the roof of his house where he again sexually assaulted her.   Thereafter, he had threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident, the girl had testified.   However, on the next day she had told some women of her neighbourhood who had then called the police.

 THRISSUR: Noted poet Vyloppilli Sreedhara Menon’s wife Bhanumathi Amma passed away early Tuesday morning. She was 92. She died at her residence following old age ailments. She will be cremated at 2.30 pm today at Thrissur Paramekavu Shanthighat.

Menon married Bhanumathi, daughter of Vyloppilli Cheerath Sankara Menon and Thattat Lakshmikutty Amma, in 1956. The two separated soon. She has two sons--Dr Sreekumar and Dr Vijaya Kumar.

A student studying abroad in Switzerland observes the country in Switzerland:

While studying in Switzerland, I rented a house near the school. The landlord Kristina is a 67-year-old single old lady who worked as a teacher in a secondary school before she retired. Switzerland's pension is very rich, enough not to make her worry about eating and drinking in her later years. However, it is puzzling that she actually found a "work" - to take care of an 87-year-old single old man. I asked if she was working for money. Her answer surprised me: “I did not work for money, but I put my time in the ‘time bank’, and when I couldn’t move at old age, I could withdraw it.”
The first time I heard about the concept of "time bank", I was very curious and asked the landlord thoroughly. The original “Time Bank” was an old-age pension program developed by the Swiss Federal Ministry of Social Security. People saved the time of taking care of the elderly when they were young, and waited until they were old, ill or needed care. Applicants must be healthy, good at communicating and full of love. Every day they have plenty of time to look after the elderly who need help. Their service hours will be deposited into the personal accounts of the social security system. She went to work twice a week, spending two hours each time, to help the elderly shopping, finishing the room, taking the elderly out to sunbathe, chatting with the elderly. According to the agreement, after one year of her service expiry, “Time Bank” will count out her working hours and issue her a “time bank card”. When she needs someone to take care of her, she can use her “time bank card” to “time bank” to withdraw “time and time interest”. After the information verification is passed, “Time Bank” will assign volunteers to take care of her to the hospital or her home. .
One day, I was in school and the landlady called and said she fell off the stool when she wiped the window. I quickly took leave and sent her to the hospital for treatment. The landlady broke her ankle and needed to stay in bed for a while. While I was preparing to apply for a holiday home to take care of her, the landlady told me that I did not have to worry about her. She had already submitted a withdrawal request to the “Time Bank”. Sure enough, less than two hours, "Time Bank" sent a nursing worker to come to care for the landlord. Today, in Switzerland, the use of "time banks" to support old age has become a common practice. This not only saves the country pension expenses, but also solves some other social problems. Many Swiss citizens are very supportive of this kind of old-age pensions. The survey conducted by the Swiss pension organization shows that more than half of Swiss young people also want to participate in this type of old-age care service. The Swiss government also specializes in legislation to support the "Time Bank" pension.

On their Facebook page, the WCC has clarified its stand under the title – We want to ask AMMA certain things.
 

Why did AMMA expel Dileep if their idea was to take him back? A person accused of more or less rape has been taken back when the trial is still pending. Through this, has not AMMA humiliated the member who has survived the atrocity against her, WCC asks.

Fish preserved in formalin seized

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a major haul, 6,000 kg of fish, preserved in toxic chemical formalin, was seized at the border check post of Walayar in Palakkad.
The state Food Safety department officials foiled the attempt to ferry the chemical-mixed fish from Andhra Pradesh during a raid carried out as part of the 'Operation Sagar Rani,' a drive launched to ensure safety and hygiene at fish handling and distribution centres.
As many as 6000 kg of prawns, brought in 45 lorries was found mixed with formalin, officials said.
Last week, 12,000 kg of toxic fish, containing formalin, was confiscated during raids in the state.
Formalin is used to preserve dead bodies and prevent its decay in mortuaries.
The widespread use of the deadly chemical now-a-days in preservation of fish, fruit and other food items is posing a great threat to public health.
According to Food Safety official, the presence of Formalin was detected during the preliminary examination carried out using paper strips, developed by the Central Institute of Fisheries Technology.
Later, the complete fish load was sent to the chemical laboratory in Ernakulam district for further examination, they said.
A 15-member-team of Food Safety officials from Kozhikode, Ernakulam and Palakkad, led by joint food safety commissioner, carried out the raid.
The Food Safety Department recently intensified raids at the border check posts, with special focus on fish stock arriving from other states, following a directive from the Health Minister K K Shailaja in this regard.
The minister had warned of stringent legal action against those who bring or sell chemically contaminated fish.
The officials had seized a total of 12,000 kg of toxic fish, in two different raids in the state, last week.
Of this, 6000 kg of fish, mixed with formalin, was confiscated from Amaravila check post near here, while the rest was taken into custody from Walayar, they said.

Kerala's 4th international airport at Kannur to open in September

Union Minister for Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu on Saturday, following a meeting with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, announced the opening of the Kannur International Airport Ltd (KIAL) in September.   Vijayan had met Prabhu in the morning along with his team of officials to discuss the finalisation of the Rs 1,892 crore-airport located at Mattanur, near Kannur, fast nearing completion in 2,000 acres of land.   "I have asked the Chief Minister to see that he posts someone in Delhi to follow-up on things connected with the Kannur airport. "I have also asked my officials to see that everything goes forward and the airport can open in September," said Prabhu to the media in Delhi soon after the meeting.   With this, Kerala will be the only state in the country to have four international airports with the others at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode.   The Kerala government has 35 per cent stakes, 25 per cent by public sector undertakings, 10 per cent with the Airport Authority of India and the remaining 30 per cent is with Cooperatives, banks and individual shareholders.   The first trial operation took place in February 2016, when an Indian Air Force aircraft landed for the first time at the airport and was received by then Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.   Once completed the apron of the airport will have parking bays for 14 Code E aircraft or 20 Code C aircraft.   The airport will be able to handle at a time 2,000 passengers and it is anticipated that KIAL will serve more than 1.5 million international passengers annually, besides changing the face of north Kerala with tourism and business activities especially handloom, textiles and floriculture.   This airport will start off with a runway of 3,050 metres and in another 18 months after it opens, it will see its runway length increase to 3,400 metres and eventually it will touch 4,000 metres, making it one of the four biggest airports in the country, an official said.

But the features are very limited at the moment, but WhatsApp is working so hard on some exclusive features to its Business application. WhatsApp is working on a massive feature for its Business users with which they can showcase their products in an online catalogue very soon. Going by a tweet posted by WhatsApp watcher, WABetaInfo, the instant messaging platform will be soon adding the online catalogue feature to the Business application. Besides this, there are not many details available regarding the feature.

However, the tweet by WABetaInfo also includes an image, which gives a glimpse at how Businesses can display the catalogue. WhatsApp will allow them to add the Title, Description, Link and Stock Keeping Unit of the product. Out of the four, title and description of the products will be mandatory while the other two are optional.

     When the gentleman  was 45 years old his wife suddenly passed away.....
His relatives and friends advised him to remarry and settle down.
But
He advised all in the negative and told them that he had only one son
And my son is a gift to me from my wife,

I will look after him well and my life will be successful with his success.

Son grows up...gets married in grand style and the father handed over his well established business to his son and retired.

After a year or so the father had his breakfast a bit early one morning

After starting his breakfast he requested his daughter in law for  curd ......if it was there

His daughter in law said there was no  curd....this was heard by his son...who was entering the dining area for breakfast.

After the father had his breakfast the son and his wife sat down to have breakfast....on the breakfast table there was a bowl of curd.
After having his breakfast and with no comments, the son also left home for office. That day and night the son pondered over curd matter.

Next day the son requested his father to accompany him to the court  to get married.
His father told him "I do not need a second marriage at this age and I give you all the love, you do not need a mother.
What is the use of the second marriage ?"

The son replied him politely...father I am not getting a mother for myself or a wife for you....i am only trying my best so that you get your bowl of curd everyday.
From tomorrow me and my wife will move to a rented apartment and I shall work in your office as a worker who will be paid wages,so that your daughter in law knows the Value of a bowl of curd.

Parents can be ATM cards for their children but children need to be Adhar cards for their parents......

What is Nipah Virus ?

Q : What is Nipah Virus ?

A : Nipah virus was initially discovered when it caused an outbreak of brain fever among pig farmers in Malaysia.


Q : Should I be worried ?

A :  A little. As it is transmitted from person to person and there is no effective antiviral therapy for this infection .

Q : Who is at high risk ? How is it transmitted ?

A : 1. People working with pigs and consuming pigs.

2. Farmers who come in contact with bats.

3. Consuming Fruits which are already bitten by bat.

4. Contact with people who already have Nipah virus infection.


Q : What are the early symptoms  ?

A : The initial presentation is non-specific, characterized by the sudden onset of fever, headache, muscle pain , nausea and vomiting. Neck rigidity and photophobia are also  seen.
The disease rapidly progresses, with deterioration in consciousness *leading to coma within five to seven days.*

Q :How is it diagnosed ?

A : The rdiagnosis is by ELISA which is currently  done at National institute of Virology, Pune.

Q : How is it treated ?

A : Supportive care is the mainstay of treatment and infected patients may require intensive care monitoring.
 *THERE IS NO APPROVED  SPECIFIC THERAPY FOR THIS INFECTION* . So prevention is the only cure !

Q : How do i prevent it ?

A : 1. Avoid contact with pigs and pig handlers  .

2. Maintain personal hygeine and intensive hand washing practices

3. *Avoid consuming raw fruits,* Consume only well cooked, clean, home made food till the outbreak settles down.

4. Preferably use N95 mask while travelling or working in public places to avoid person to person transmission.

5. Be aware of the symptoms and report to the doctor immediately for early diagnosis and treatment.

He said that the combination of fat, high heat and plastic releases dioxin into the food.

Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food... You get the same result, but without the dioxin..

So, such things as TV dinners, instant soups, etc., should be removed from their containers and heated in something else.

Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's safer to use tempered glass, such as Pyrex, etc.

He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the styrene foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons....

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Cling film, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave.

As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food..

Cover food with a paper towel instead.

= പതിവായി തഹജ്ജുദ് നമസ്കരിക്കുക

= രാത്രിയിലെ അവസാന നിസ്കാരം വിതറാവാൻ സഹോദരീ സഹോദരന്മാർ ശ്രദ്ദിക്കുക

= അഞ്ച് നേരത്തെ നിസ്കാരം ഖളാ ആക്കാതെ അതിന്റെ പൂർണ്ണതയോട് കൂടി നിസ്കരിക്കുക.

= 4 റകഅത്ത് ളുഹാ നമസ്കാരം പതിവാക്കുക (സ്വർഗത്തിൽ ഭവനം നിർമ്മിക്കപ്പെടും)
